And the last, but not the least part, is the speed. Just access the “Settings” menu, and find the feature you need – that’s all you require to do. On the first, it is open-source and totally free product, which you can use either for non-commercial purposes or on the enterprise. It contains a mass of useful and handy functionalities, designed specifically for your comfort and coziness while emulating the external OS. VirtualBox is one of the best software virtual emulators. But this time I would like to make a pause and describe, how to download and use Oracle VirtualBox for Windows 7 for free. On the software market there is a plenty of applications, eligible to run the external platforms: VMWare, Virtual PC and others. By using the virtual emulator, you can install literally any system on your Windows-based computer: Linux, Unix, FreeBSD, Android, Mac OS X, even not mentioning all the systems from Windows generation: from ancient Win 95 and 98 builds to the latest Win 8.1 and Win 10 releases (both 32- or 64-bit). Guest Additions did not do anything to combat this, and in fact the only thing it did both times was sync the time: it didn't speed the VM up or add the correct resolution. The first two times I tried actually let me boot into Windows and complete the installation (even though I had to go into cmd and go into regedit in order for it to complete both times) however it was very slow. Yesterday, I left the VM running for about an hour, and came back seeing it was still on the "Starting Windows" screen. The dots which make up the Windows logo take an age to perform their animation: I have signed up to Oracle, and wrote this post and it STILL hasn't gone into the setup menu, there is 1 frame about once every 10 seconds, however this has been up to a minute or more. ![]() When I try to boot into set up, it is extremely slow, and for the past 3 attempts (completely remaking the VM), have never got past the "Starting Windows" screen. Hello! I am new to the forum and VirtualBox, so I apologize if I have made a mistake somewhere: However I have an issue with a Windows 7 Home Premium VM.
